Jenna has been teaching at the Phelps Dance Academy since the start of the 2016 season. She has taught a variety of classes through the program including creative movement, ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, and lyrical. She has been dancing for 20+ years and has trained as a competitive dancer at Stages Dance Academy in Buffalo, New York. Jenna was also a coach of the Keuka College Dance Team from 2014-2016. During the day, she is an occupational therapist working with school-aged kids. She is excited to share her passion for dance with the surrounding community!
A native of Rochester NY, Mary Cole started dancing at the age of 8. Her training began at Michelle Buschner’s Dance School; then she moved on to Dance Dimension and Boriquen Dance Theatre. Mary has been involved in a variety of different dance styles including ballet, tap, jazz, modern, hip-hop, lyrical, Puerto Rican folkloric, and Latin contemporary. Suny Purchase is where she graduated with her Bachelor's degree in Sociology. Mary has opened up for several R&B Artists at the Auditorium Theatre and other locations. She has taught dance in Rochester, Yonkers, NY, and Rochelle, NY. Mary has been a dance instructor at Phelps Community Center since 2017.
Mary also has another passion, and that is Acting. She has been involved in musicals and plays in the Rochester and Downstate New York area. She has directed several Productions and Shows in Rochester NY. Mary Cole is currently the director of Phelps Community Center Star Theatre Program.
Maribeth Beniamino started teaching for Phelps Dance Academy at the Phelps Community Center in 2018. She grew up in Phelps and graduated from Midlakes in 2004. She is passionate about dance, education, working with children and is full of small-town pride! She was hooked on dance from her very first class at the age of 3! Currently, she lives in Newark with her husband and is a stay-at-home mom to her two amazing daughters, ages 6 and 3 (who also love to dance!).
Maribeth spent 15 years as a dancer and an assistant as an advanced student with The Studio for the Performing Arts in Newark where she studied Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical and Pointe, although her favorite has always been Ballet! She has been a dancer and soloist in dozens of ballet productions including The Nutcracker, Swan Lake and Giselle and travelled to many local festivals and dance competitions. She also studied Ballet and African Dance and Drumming at SUNY Brockport and studied French at L'Institut de Touraine in Tours, France. Prior to becoming a stay-at-home mom she worked for 8 years as a Teacher's Assistant for Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES working with students with disabilities and ran a home daycare for infants, toddlers and preschoolers.
Nikole is the newest addition to the Phelps Dance Academy teaching staff. Nikole was born and raised in Geneva NY where she began her dance education at the age of four. In addition to formal dance training, she participated in several theater productions with the Geneva Youth Theater Guild. Nikole's love for the arts continued to grow when became a member of the theater group Spirit Works. Where she continued to advance her dance and theatrical skills. Nikole graduated from Geneva high and went onto receive her bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology from State University of Potsdam. Nikole enjoys seeing the love of dance now through her daughter's eyes and can’t wait to watch the love of dance grow within her students.
