Nate-Program Director

Nate River is thrilled to be contributing to his fifth production here
at the Star Theatre program as Program Director. He is a performer, and
theater teacher born and raised in the Finger Lakes Region of Upstate
NY. His love for performing started when he was in High School, where he
auditioned for Midlakes’s spring musical Curtains. Ever since this
production, he has continued to expand his love and knowledge for
performance by earning an associate's degree in Theatre at Finger Lakes
Community College, and more recently, his BFA in Musical Theatre at
Nazareth College.

Throughout his education, he has been in numerous musicals, plays, and
local commercials. Some of his favorite highlights include: FLCC’s
production of The Odd Couple as Felix Ungar, JCC’s production of
Something Rotten as Robin and u/s Shakespeare, being a flash mob dancer
in the 2022 film Ask Me to Dance, and attending Broadway veteran Valerie
Wright’s Musical Theatre intensive in New York City.

Nate is excited to continue growing the Star Theatre program, providing
acting/ audition prep classes, vocal one on one lessons, performance
summer camps, and more!  He looks forward to instilling his passion for
performing in the next generation.

Sydney-Assistant Director

Sydney has worked as the stage manager for the Star Theatre since the
program’s 2019 production of The Wizard of Oz.  She is so excited to
continue sharing her wide range of talents with the community as PCC
Star Theatre’s Assistant Director.

Sydney has participated in high school and collegiate plays and
musicals. Including FLCC’s productions of Little Shop of Horrors, The
25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, The Games Afoot, and more!
Sydney has also provided her expertise to various local high school and
college drama programs, donating her skills as a director. When Sydney
is not directing or acting, she works as an Arts and Crafts Program
staff member for Rochester Rotary Sunshine Camp, a fully accessible
residential camp that has met the needs of children with physical and
mental disabilities and their families.

Sydney currently has an associate's degree in Humanities from FLCC and
will be walking the stage in the spring of 2023 for earning her
Bachelor's Degree in Childhood Multidisciplinary Education and Special
Education at SUNY Brockport.

Kellie-Prop Master

Kellie Marino was born in Geneva, NY and is married with two children. She graduated from Geneva High School.
She became a nail technician and also taught the NYS Nail Licensing program at Wayne Finger lakes Boces. As an entrepreneur, she went on to open her own full service salon and spa wellness center for several years.

Kellie has always enjoyed art and challenging her creativity. She has published a children’s book, she sews, does pottery, paints, is an advanced Argentine tango dancer, a martial artist in Taekwondo, and loves to crotchet, and do gardening. She loves making things from scratch which lead her to making and acquiring props for Star Theatre since 2017. That passion grew into a love of making sure the actors are always happy with the props they need and watching them advance in their craft.

I enjoy being part of our theatre program and look forward to its growth.

Hannah-Production Assistant

Hannah is our Production Assistant. She is 19, plans of going to college in January for Criminal Psychology and Creative Writing with a minor in Theatre Arts. A graduate of Midlakes High School who was a part of 7 shows and musicals in its Theatre Experience. Some of which she starred in and some of which she built, painted, helped design, or did sound effects for. Hannah hopes to continue working with children’s theatre through college and through her other future jobs. She has been working with kids since the fourth grade, whether it be tutoring, directing, or babysitting and is so grateful for this opportunity to mix two things she loves doing, Theatre and helping kids.
