Nate-Assistant Director

Nate River is a performer and teacher born and raised in the Finger Lakes Region of Upstate NY. His love for performing started when he was in High School, where he auditioned for Midlakes’s spring musical Curtains. Ever since this production, he has continued to expand his love and knowledge for performance by earning an associates degree in Theatre at Finger Lakes Community College, and more recently, his BFA in Musical Theatre at Nazareth College.

Throughout his education he has been in numerous musicals, plays, and local commercials. He even spent last summer in Brooklyn, NY where he trained with Broadway Professionals to put together a showcase. Nate is so excited to continue sharing his knowledge with PCC Star Theatre as being an Assistant Theatre Director for the fourth year in a row.

Nikole-Assistant Director

Nikole was born and raised in Geneva, NY, where she began her dance education at the age of four. In addition to formal dance training, she took part in several theatre productions with the Geneva Youth Theatre Guild and was a member of the Geneva High School Drama Club. Nikole's deep appreciation for the arts continued to grow through her participation as a member of the Spirit Works theatre group, and various local singing choirs. A graduate of Geneva High, Nikole continued her education at SUNY Potsdam where she received a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology. While at Potsdam, she continued to advance her dance and musical theatre knowledge by taking several courses through the Department of Theatre and Dance.

Nikole, a mother of two, enjoys seeing the love of dance and theatre through her daughters’ eyes, and cannot wait to watch this love grow within her students. Nikole has brought her extensive background and fondness for the performing arts to the Phelps Community Center where she is a Dance Instructor at PCC Dance Studio, and the Assistant Director of the PCC Star Theatre Program. As Assistant Theatre Director, she has helped plan and facilitate several workshops and performances. Nikole is excited to continue sharing her admiration for the arts with the community.

Kellie-Prop Master

Kellie Marino was born in Geneva, NY and is married with two children. She graduated from Geneva High School.
She became a nail technician and also taught the NYS Nail Licensing program at Wayne Finger lakes Boces. As an entrepreneur, she went on to open her own full service salon and spa wellness center for several years.

Kellie has always enjoyed art and challenging her creativity. She has published a children’s book, she sews, does pottery, paints, is an advanced Argentine tango dancer, a martial artist in Taekwondo, and loves to crotchet, and do gardening. She loves making things from scratch which lead her to making and acquiring props for Star Theatre since 2017. That passion grew into a love of making sure the actors are always happy with the props they need and watching them advance in their craft.

I enjoy being part of our theatre program and look forward to its growth.
